WHAT WE DO

MISSION

We believe in the inherent dignity and potential of all people. Guided by values of global social justice, empowerment, and professionalism, we are devoted to bridging cultures and promoting culturally congruent social policies and direct services to the Asian and Pacific Islander populations in the United States, Pacific Rim regions, and beyond. Specifically, we aim to integrate Western evidence-based knowledge and principles with holistic healing practices from Eastern philosophy and traditional Chinese medicine.

HISTORY

The Pacific, Education, Research, and Learning Institute (P.E.A.R.L. Institute) was founded as a non-profit organization in 1993 by a group of AAPI community leaders who were committed to addressing community and human service needs. The founders envisioned it to be an organization that addresses social service policy needs and provides culturally congruent human services tailored to populations from the Pacific Rim and beyond. In 2015, the Institute was re-established as The Pacific, Education, Research, and Learning Institute (P.E.A.R.L. Institute)of New York, Inc.
